Video on the Open Internet

The part about “application agnostic” reminds me about The Federation of Tech Experts. Also, imagine this: Cuba, 90 miles away from the US, has total control of the Internet in the communist country…..then again, we have our own challenges in the US, as Malkia Cyril mentions, what would happen if we ALL had access? (wait, do you mean to say not all US citizens have access?)

Worth thinking about……Check out the video, quite interesting.

30 minutes!

This past weekend I participated in the 11th Annual Alan C. Sundberg, Jr. Memorial 5K . It was chilly and dry. Perfect weather to surpass my goal of 30 minutes. Terrain was relatively easy, not too many hills. As I started mile 3, I felt “good” on target to make it in 29 minutes but the last hill at around 2.5 miles, was the tough one. I ended the race around 31 minutes. What does this mean? I will do it this Saturday at: Celebration Baptist Church Fall Fest 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run.

New Blog, New Look, New Focus

If you have been to my blog before, you will tell that I changed the look and feel. I made a few changes:

1. Migrated from Hypermart to Media Temple. So far, so good. It took 15 minutes to redirect the domain and adding a WordPress blog was a 1-button setup.

2. I went with a WooTheme.

3. I am refocusing my social media strategy to minimize the number of sites (Facebook, Twitter, Plaxo) and focus on improving the quality of the information I am sharing.

4. I will leave up the “old blog” up for a few weeks.
